You said it! My wife got me an air compressor last year for my birthday and it's by far the BEST present I've ever received. You're right...it's not expensive at all! As for the sockets, I just use the sockets in my Craftsmen tool set. I know, I know, I wear safety goggles when using them. They may break but they're free to replace. Keep your tools well oiled and they'll last forever.

I got air tools from my fiancee for this last christmas. I got a 6 HP 20 gallon Porter Cable compressor for $249, and some generic tools that came in a set for like $75, which included some adaptors, some sockets, an impact gun, impact wrentch, air spray tools, air hammer, and one of those spinny things you can put cut off discs, sanders, grinders, etc. on. The generic tools work great and I haven't had a problem with them yet. I just need to get a good socket set, so thanks for the link to those good priced air tools and sockets, I'm sure I can save some money there over the craftsmen counterparts I was going to buy.

exciv2000...I was about to dump $80 on the air socket set at Sears, but then I found www.toolwarehouse.net ...you cannot beat $20 for such a nice set of IR sockets...they even come with the metal case...also they have the 32mm socket that you use for the axle there...I think it was around $12....I have bought a few things from them and the service is great...if you buy over $100 on the first order shipping is free...and then you will receive free shipping coupons in you email every once in a while...I am now looking to pick up a air ratchet and a die grinder...more tools!!!!!!
